14:6Then the children of Judah approached Joshua in Gilgal; and Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite said to him, You know the word that Jehovah spoke to Moses the man of God concerning me and concerning you in Kadesh-barnea. Compare
14:7I was forty years old when Moses the servant of Jehovah sent me out from Kadesh-barnea to spy out the land; and I returned such a word to him as was genuinely upon my heart. Compare
14:8However my brothers who went up with me made the people's heart melt, but I fully followed Jehovah my God. Compare
14:9And Moses swore on that day, saying, Surely the land on which your foot has trodden will be an inheritance to you and to your children forever, for you have fully followed Jehovah my God. Compare
14:10And now, look, Jehovah has kept me alive, as He said, for these forty-five years, since the time Jehovah spoke this word to Moses while Israel walked through the wilderness. And now, look, today I am eighty-five years old. Compare
14:11Today I am still as strong as I was on the day Moses sent me out; as my strength was then, so my strength is now, for battle and for going out and coming in. Compare
14:12Now therefore give me this hill country, of which Jehovah spoke on that day, for you heard on that day that the Anakim were there with great fortified cities. It may be that Jehovah will be with me, and I will dispossess them, as Jehovah said. Compare
14:13So Joshua blessed him; and he gave Hebron to Caleb the son of Jephunneh as an inheritance. Compare
14:14Therefore Hebron has become the inheritance of Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite to this day because he fully followed Jehovah the God of Israel. Compare
14:15And the name of Hebron was formerly Kiriath-arba. (This Arba was the greatest man among the Anakim.) And the land had rest from war. Compare
15:1And the lot for the tribe of the children of Judah according to their families was unto the border of Edom, to the wilderness of Zin at the south; this was the southern extreme. Compare
15:2And their southern border was from the end of the Salt Sea, from the tongue-shaped bay that faces south; Compare
15:3And it went southward to the ascent of Akrabbim, and passed on to Zin, and went up south of Kadesh-barnea, and passed on to Hezron, and went up to Addar, and went around Karka, Compare
15:4And passed on to Azmon, and went out to the brook of Egypt; and the end of the border was at the sea. This shall be your southern border. Compare
15:5And the eastern border was the Salt Sea to the end of the Jordan. And the border on the northern side was from the bay of the sea at the end of the Jordan. Compare
15:6And the border went up to Beth-hoglah, and passed on to the north of Beth-arabah; and the border went up to the stone of Bohan the son of Reuben; Compare
15:7And the border went up to Debir from the Valley of Achor, and turned northward toward Gilgal, which is opposite the ascent of Adummim, which is south of the river valley; and the border passed on to the waters of En-shemesh; and its end was at En-rogel; Compare
15:8Then the border went up by the Valley of Ben-hinnom to the south of the Jebusite slope (this is Jerusalem); and the border went to the top of the mountain that is before the Valley of Hinnom on the west, which is the northern end of the Valley of Rephaim; Compare
15:9And the border turned from the top of the mountain to the spring of the waters of Nephtoah and went to the cities of Mount Ephron; then the border turned toward Baalah (this is Kiriath-jearim); Compare
15:10And the border went around west of Baalah to Mount Seir, and passed by the northern slope of Mount Jearim (this is Chesalon), and went down to Beth-shemesh, and passed on to Timnah; Compare
15:11And the border went to the slope of Ekron northward; and the border turned toward Shikkeron, and passed by Mount Baalah, and went to Jabneel; and the end of the border was at the sea. Compare
15:12And the western border was the Great Sea and its coast. This is the border of the children of Judah all around according to their families. Compare
15:13And to Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a portion in the midst of the children of Judah according to the commandment of Jehovah to Joshua, that is, Kiriath-arba (Arba was the father of Anak); this is Hebron. Compare
15:14And Caleb drove out the three sons of Anak from there: Sheshai and Ahiman and Talmai, the children of Anak. Compare
15:15And he went up from there to the inhabitants of Debir. (Now the name of Debir was formerly Kiriath-sepher.) Compare
15:16And Caleb said, Whoever strikes Kiriath-sepher and takes it, I will give to him Achsah my daughter as wife. Compare
15:17Then Othniel the son of Kenaz, Caleb's brother, took it; and he gave him Achsah his daughter as wife. Compare
15:18And when she came to him, she urged him to ask her father for a field. And she alighted from her donkey, and Caleb said to her, What do you want? Compare
15:19And she said, Give me a blessing, for you have given me land in the Negev; give me also springs of water. So he gave her the upper springs and the lower springs. Compare
15:20This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Judah according to their families. Compare
15:21And the uttermost cities of the tribe of the children of Judah toward the border of Edom on the south were Kabzeel and Eder and Jagur Compare
15:22And Kinah and Dimonah and Adadah Compare
15:23And Kedesh and Hazor and Ithnan; Compare
15:24Ziph and Telem and Bealoth Compare
15:25And Hazor-hadattah and Kerioth-hezron (this is Hazor); Compare
15:26Amam and Shema and Moladah Compare
15:27And Hazar-gaddah and Heshmon and Beth-pelet Compare
15:28And Hazar-shual and Beer-sheba and Biziothiah; Compare
15:29Baalah and Iim and Ezem Compare
15:30And Eltolad and Chesil and Hormah Compare
15:31And Ziklag and Madmannah and Sansannah Compare
15:32And Lebaoth and Shilhim and Ain and Rimmon: in all twenty-nine cities with their villages. Compare
15:33In the lowland: Eshtaol and Zorah and Ashnah Compare
15:34And Zanoah and En-gannim; Tappuah and Enam; Compare
15:35Jarmuth and Adullam; Socoh and Azekah Compare
15:36And Shaaraim and Adithaim and Gederah and Gederothaim: fourteen cities with their villages. Compare
15:37Zenan and Hadashah and Migdal-gad Compare
15:38And Dilean and Mizpeh and Joktheel; Compare
15:39Lachish and Bozkath and Eglon Compare
15:40And Cabbon and Lahmas and Chitlish Compare
15:41And Gederoth; Beth-dagon and Naamah and Makkedah: sixteen cities with their villages. Compare

15:63But as for the Jebusites, the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the children of Judah could not dispossess them; thus the Jebusites dwell with the children of Judah in Jerusalem to this day. Compare
