Proverbs 3 ~ 5

3:1My son, do not forget my instruction, / But let your heart keep my commandments; Compare
3:2For length of days and years of life / And peace will they add to you. Compare
3:3Do not let lovingkindness and truth forsake you: / Bind them around your neck; / Write them upon the tablet of your heart. Compare
3:4Thus you will find favor and a reputation for fine understanding / In the sight of God and man. Compare
3:5Trust in Jehovah with all your heart, / And do not rely on your own understanding; Compare
3:6In all your ways acknowledge Him, / And He will make your paths straight. Compare
3:7Do not be wise in your own eyes; / Fear Jehovah, and depart from evil. Compare
3:8It will be healing to your body / And refreshment to your bones. Compare
3:9Honor Jehovah with your substance / And with the firstfruits of all your produce; Compare
3:10Then your barns will be filled with plenty, / And your vats will burst open with new wine. Compare
3:11My son, do not despise the chastening of Jehovah, / Nor be weary of His discipline; Compare
3:12For whom Jehovah loves He disciplines, / Even as a father, the son in whom he delights. Compare
3:13Blessed is the man who finds wisdom, / And the man who gains understanding. Compare
3:14For her profit is better than the profit of silver, / And her income is better than gold. Compare
3:15She is more precious than corals, / And nothing you desire compares with her. Compare
3:16Length of days is in her right hand; / In her left hand are riches and honor. Compare
3:17Her ways are ways of pleasantness, / And all her paths are peace. Compare
3:18She is a tree of life to those who lay hold of her, / And happy are those who hold her fast. Compare
3:19Jehovah by wisdom founded the earth; / He established the heavens by understanding; Compare
3:20By His knowledge the depths were broken open / And the skies drop down the dew. Compare
3:21My son, do not let these depart from your sight: / Keep sound wisdom and discretion; Compare
3:22And they will be life for your soul / And a graceful ornament for your neck. Compare
3:23Then you will walk on your way securely, / And your foot will not stumble. Compare
3:24When you lie down, you will not be afraid; / But you will lie down, and your sleep will be sweet. Compare
3:25Do not be afraid of sudden fear, / Nor of the destruction of the wicked when it comes; Compare
3:26For Jehovah will be your confidence, / And He will keep your foot from being caught. Compare
3:27Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, / When it is in the power of your hand to do so. Compare
3:28Do not say to your neighbor, Go, and come back; / And tomorrow I will give it - when you have it with you. Compare
3:29Do not devise harm against your neighbor, / While he lives securely beside you. Compare
3:30Do not strive with a man without cause, / If he has done you no harm. Compare
3:31Do not envy a man of violence, / And do not choose any of his ways; Compare
3:32For the perverse man is an abomination to Jehovah, / But His intimate counsel is with the upright. Compare
3:33The curse of Jehovah is in the house of the wicked man, / But He blesses the dwelling place of the righteous. Compare
3:34To scorners He is scornful, / But to the humble He gives grace. Compare
3:35The wise will inherit honor, / But fools increase their own disgrace. Compare
4:1Hear, my sons, the instruction of a father, / And be attentive, that you may gain understanding; Compare
4:2For I give you good teaching; / Do not forsake my instruction. Compare
4:3For I was a son to my father, / Tender and the only beloved in the sight of my mother. Compare
4:4And he taught me and said to me, / Let your heart hold fast to my words; / Keep my commandments and live; Compare
4:5Get wisdom; get understanding; / Do not forget nor turn away from the words of my mouth. Compare
4:6Do not forsake her, and she will keep you; / Love her, and she will guard you. Compare
4:7The beginning of wisdom is this: / Get wisdom; and in all your getting, get understanding. Compare
4:8Prize her highly, and she will exalt you; / She will honor you if you embrace her. Compare
4:9She will give a garland of grace for your head; / A crown of beauty will she bestow on you. Compare
4:10Hear, my son, and receive my words, / And the years of your life will be many. Compare
4:11I have taught you in the way of wisdom; / I have led you in the paths of uprightness. Compare
4:12When you walk, your steps will not be hindered; / And when you run, you will not stumble. Compare
4:13Take hold of instruction; do not let go; / Guard her, for she is your life. Compare
4:14Do not enter the path of the wicked, / And do not walk in the way of the evil. Compare
4:15Avoid it; do not pass by it; / Turn away from it and pass on by. Compare
4:16For they cannot sleep unless they do evil; / And they are robbed of their sleep unless they cause someone to stumble. Compare
4:17For they eat the bread of wickedness / And drink the wine of violence. Compare
4:18But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, / Which shines brighter and brighter until the full day. Compare
4:19The way of the wicked is like deep darkness; / They do not know what they stumble over. Compare
4:20My son, be attentive to my words; / Incline your ear to my sayings. Compare
4:21Do not let them depart from your sight; / Keep them in the midst of your heart. Compare
4:22For they are life to those who find them, / And healing to all their flesh. Compare
4:23Keep your heart with all vigilance, / For from it are the issues of life. Compare
4:24Put away from you crooked speech, / And put perverse talk far from you. Compare
4:25Let your eyes look directly ahead, / And let your gaze be straight in front of you. Compare
4:26Make straight the path of your feet, / And all your ways will be established. Compare
4:27Do not turn to the right or to the left; / Turn your foot away from evil. Compare
5:1My son, be attentive to my wisdom; / Incline your ear to my understanding, Compare
5:2That you may keep discretion, / And your lips may guard knowledge. Compare
5:3For the lips of a strange woman drip honey, / And her mouth is smoother than oil; Compare
5:4But in the end she is bitter as wormwood, / Sharp as a two-edged sword. Compare
5:5Her feet go down to death; / Her steps hold fast to Sheol. Compare
5:6She does not make straight the path of life: / Her ways wander, and she does not know it. Compare
5:7And now, my sons, listen to me, / And do not depart from the words of my mouth. Compare
5:8Keep your way far from her, / And do not go near the door of her house; Compare
5:9Lest you give your honor to others, / And your years to the cruel; Compare
5:10Lest strangers be filled with your wealth, / And your labors go to the house of a foreigner, Compare
5:11And you mourn at your end, / When your flesh and your body are consumed, Compare
5:12And you say, How I have hated instruction, / And my heart has despised reproof! Compare
5:13And I have not listened to the voice of my teachers / Nor inclined my ear to my instructors; Compare
5:14I was almost into every evil / In the midst of the congregation and assembly. Compare
5:15Drink waters out of your own cistern, / And running water out of your own well. Compare
5:16Should your springs be shed forth, / Like streams of water in the streets? Compare
5:17Let them be yours alone, / And not for strangers with you. Compare
5:18Let your fountain be blessed, / And rejoice in the wife of your youth, Compare
5:19A lovely hind and a graceful doe. / Let her breasts satisfy you at all times. / May you be ravished with her love always. Compare
5:20For why should you be ravished, my son, with a strange woman / And embrace the bosom of an adulteress? Compare
5:21For the ways of a man are before the eyes of Jehovah, / And He ponders all his paths. Compare
5:22The wicked man is taken by his own iniquities, / And he is held fast by the cords of his own sin. Compare
5:23He will die for lack of instruction, / And in the greatness of his folly he will go astray. Compare
