Deuteronomy 14 ~ 16

14:1You are the children of Jehovah your God; you shall not cut yourselves nor shave your forehead for the dead. Compare
14:2For you are a holy people to Jehovah your God, and Jehovah has chosen you to be a people for His personal treasure, from among all the peoples which are upon the face of the earth. Compare
14:3You shall not eat any abominable thing. Compare
14:4These are the animals which you may eat: the ox, the sheep, and the goat; Compare
14:5The deer, the gazelle, the roebuck, the wild goat, the ibex, the antelope, the mountain sheep. Compare
14:6And every animal that has a divided hoof, that is, has its hoof split in two, and that chews the cud among the animals, that you may eat. Compare
14:7However, these you shall not eat of those that chew the cud or of those that have a cleft hoof: the camel, the hare, and the hyrax; because although they chew the cud, they do not have a divided hoof; they are unclean to you. Compare
14:8And the pig, because although it has a divided hoof, it does not chew the cud; it is unclean to you. You shall not eat of their flesh, nor shall you touch their carcasses. Compare
14:9These you may eat of all that are in the water: Anything that has fins and scales you may eat, Compare
14:10But anything that does not have fins and scales you shall not eat; it is unclean to you. Compare
14:11You may eat any clean bird. Compare
14:12But these are what you shall not eat: the great vulture, the bearded vulture, and the black vulture; Compare
14:13The kite, the falcon, and the kite of every kind; Compare
14:14And all ravens of every kind; Compare
14:15The ostrich, the nighthawk, the sea gull, and the hawk of every kind; Compare
14:16The little owl, the great owl, the white owl, Compare
14:17The pelican, the carrion vulture, the cormorant, Compare
14:18The stork, the heron of every kind, the hoopoe, and the bat. Compare
14:19And all flying insects are unclean to you; they shall not be eaten. Compare
14:20You may eat any clean flying animal. Compare
14:21You shall not eat any carcass; to the sojourner who is within your gates you may give it that he may eat it; or you may sell it to a foreigner. For you are a holy people to Jehovah your God. You shall not boil a kid in its mother's milk. Compare
14:22You must give a tenth of all the produce of your seed, which the field brings forth, year by year. Compare
14:23And you shall eat before Jehovah your God, in the place where He will choose to cause His name to dwell, the tithe of your grain, of your new wine, and of your fresh oil and the firstborn of your herd and flock, that you may learn to fear Jehovah your God always. Compare
14:24But if the way is so far away from you that you are not able to carry your tithe, because the place where Jehovah your God will choose to set His name is too far away from you when Jehovah your God has blessed you, Compare
14:25Then you shall exchange it for money and bind up the money in your hand, and you shall go to the place which Jehovah your God will choose. Compare
14:26And you shall exchange the money for anything that your soul desires, for oxen, for sheep, for wine, for strong drink, or for anything that your soul would like; and you and your household shall eat there before Jehovah your God and rejoice. Compare
14:27But you shall not forsake the Levite who is within your gates, for he has no portion nor inheritance with you. Compare
14:28At the end of every three years you shall bring forth all the tithe of your produce for that year and lay it within your gates; Compare
14:29And the Levite shall come-for he has no portion nor inheritance with you-as well as the sojourner and the orphan and the widow who are within your gates; and they shall eat and be satisfied, so that Jehovah your God may bless you in all the work of your hand which you do. Compare
15:1At the end of every seven years you shall issue a release. Compare
15:2And this is the manner of the release: Every creditor shall release from his hand that which he has lent to his neighbor; he shall not exact it from his neighbor or his brother, for Jehovah's release has been proclaimed. Compare
15:3From the foreigner you may exact the debt; but whatever of yours your brother has, your hand shall release. Compare
15:4However, there shall not be any needy among you (for Jehovah will surely bless you in the land which Jehovah your God is giving you as an inheritance to possess), Compare
15:5But only if you carefully listen to the voice of Jehovah your God and are certain to do all this commandment which I am commanding you today. Compare
15:6For Jehovah your God will bless you as He has promised you. And you will lend to many nations, but you will not borrow; and you will rule over many nations, but they will not rule over you. Compare
15:7If among you there is a needy one amidst your brothers within any of your gates in your land, which Jehovah your God is giving you, you shall not harden your heart and you shall not close up your hand from your needy brother; Compare
15:8But you must open your hand to him, and you must lend enough for his need in whatever he lacks. Compare
15:9Be careful that there is not within your heart a base thought like this: The seventh year, the year of release, is near; and your eye be evil against your needy brother and you do not give him anything, and he cry against you to Jehovah, and it become sin to you. Compare
15:10You must give to him, and your heart shall not be displeased when you give to him; for on account of this matter Jehovah your God will bless you in all your work and in all your undertakings. Compare
15:11For the needy will not cease being in the land; therefore I am commanding you, saying, You must open your hand to your brother, to the poor one with you and to the needy one with you in your land. Compare
15:12If your brother, a Hebrew man or woman, is sold to you, he shall serve you six years; but in the seventh year you shall set him free. Compare
15:13And when you set him free, you shall not send him away empty-handed; Compare
15:14You must supply him richly from your flock and from your threshing floor and from your winepress; as Jehovah your God has blessed you, so shall you give to him. Compare
15:15And you shall remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt and that Jehovah your God ransomed you; therefore I am commanding you this thing today. Compare
15:16And if he says to you, I will not go forth from you, because he loves you and your household, for it goes well with him to be with you; Compare
15:17Then you shall take an awl and run it through his ear and into the door, and he shall be your servant forever; and thus also shall you do to your female servant. Compare
15:18You shall not view it as a hardship when you set him free; for he served you for six years, saving you double the wages of a hired hand, and Jehovah your God will bless you in all that you do. Compare
15:19All firstborn males that are brought forth in your herd and in your flock you shall sanctify to Jehovah your God; you shall not do work with your firstborn ox, nor shall you shear your firstborn sheep. Compare
15:20You and your household shall eat it before Jehovah your God year by year in the place which Jehovah will choose. Compare
15:21And if there is a blemish in it, lameness or blindness, any serious blemish, you shall not sacrifice it to Jehovah your God. Compare
15:22You shall eat it within your gates; the unclean and the clean alike may eat it, as the gazelle and the deer are eaten. Compare
15:23However, you shall not eat its blood; you shall pour it out upon the earth like water. Compare
16:1Observe the month of Abib, and hold the Passover to Jehovah your God; for in the month of Abib Jehovah your God brought you out of Egypt by night. Compare
16:2And you shall sacrifice the passover to Jehovah your God, from the flock and from the herd, in the place where Jehovah will choose to cause His name to dwell. Compare
16:3You shall not eat anything leavened with it; seven days you shall eat unleavened bread with it, that is, the bread of affliction (for in alarmed haste you came out of the land of Egypt); in order that you may remember the day of your coming out of the land of Egypt all the days of your life. Compare
16:4And leaven shall not be seen with you in all your territory for seven days, nor shall any of the flesh which you sacrifice in the evening on the first day remain until morning. Compare
16:5You may not sacrifice the passover within any of your gates, which Jehovah your God is giving you; Compare
16:6Rather, in the place where Jehovah your God will choose to cause His name to dwell, you shall sacrifice the passover in the evening, as the sun sets, at the time that you came out of Egypt. Compare
16:7And you shall cook and eat it in the place which Jehovah your God will choose, and you shall turn in the morning and go to your tents. Compare
16:8Six days you shall eat unleavened bread. And on the seventh day there shall be a solemn assembly to Jehovah your God; you shall not do any work. Compare
16:9You shall count off for yourself seven weeks. You shall begin to count the seven weeks from the time that you begin to put the sickle to the standing grain. Compare
16:10And you shall hold the Feast of Weeks to Jehovah your God according to the sufficiency of the freewill offering of your hand, which you will give, as Jehovah your God blesses you. Compare
16:11And you and your son and daughter, and your male servant and female servant, and the Levite who is within your gates and the sojourner and the orphan and the widow who are in your midst shall rejoice before Jehovah your God in the place where Jehovah your God will choose to cause His name to dwell. Compare
16:12And you shall remember that you were a slave in Egypt, and you shall keep and do these statutes. Compare
16:13You shall hold the Feast of Tabernacles for seven days after your ingathering from your threshing floor and your winepress. Compare
16:14And you and your son and daughter, and your male servant and female servant, and the Levite and the sojourner and the orphan and the widow who are within your gates shall rejoice in your feast. Compare
16:15You shall keep the feast to Jehovah your God for seven days in the place which Jehovah will choose, for Jehovah your God will bless you in all your produce and in all your undertakings; therefore you shall be nothing but joyful. Compare
16:16Three times a year all your males shall appear before Jehovah your God in the place which He will choose: at the Feast of Unleavened Bread, at the Feast of Weeks, and at the Feast of Tabernacles. And they shall not appear before Jehovah empty-handed; Compare
16:17Each man shall give as he is able to give, according to the blessing of Jehovah your God, which He has given you. Compare
16:18You shall appoint for yourself judges and officers in all your cities which Jehovah your God is giving you, according to your tribes; and they shall judge the people with righteous judgment. Compare
16:19You shall not distort justice; you shall not respect persons, nor shall you take a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and perverts the words of the righteous. Compare
16:20Righteousness, and only righteousness, shall you pursue, in order that you may live and possess the land which Jehovah your God is giving you. Compare
16:21You shall not plant for yourself an Asherah of any kind of tree beside the altar of Jehovah your God, which you will make for yourself; Compare
16:22Nor shall you erect for yourself a pillar, something which Jehovah your God hates. Compare
